MultiCare Connected Care names new board members

MultiCare Connected Care, an accountable care organization (ACO) based in Western Washington, has named four new volunteer board members who will help guide the ACO in efforts to create better clinical outcomes, enhanced service experience, and more affordable care for the populations of the Pacific Northwest.

New members of the Governing Board of Managers are Mike Huiras, MD, Auburn Family Medicine Center; Cal Kierum, MD, Woodcreek Pediatrics; Phil Lund, MD Vantage Radiology; and George Makari, MD, Mary Bridge Pediatric Neurology.

“MultiCare Connected Care‘s task is to create opportunities to better serve the communities in the Puget Sound region and we welcome the insights of our new board members. We thank them for taking on this responsibility,” said Christopher Kodama, MD, President of MultiCare Connected Care.

MCC was founded in 2014. The new board members join current managers Bill Robertson, President and CEO of MultiCare Health System; Claire Spain-Remy, MD, Chief Physician Officer of MultiCare Health System, and Anna Loomis, Chief Financial Officer of MultiCare Health System.

MultiCare Connected Care, a wholly owned subsidiary of MultiCare Health System, is an accountable care organization that supports a clinically integrated network called MultiCare Connected Care Network. This provider network is comprised of MultiCare and select independently practicing health providers including physicians and advanced practitioners, hospitals, clinics and health care services such as imaging, labs and pharmacies that coordinate with one another to transform the way care is delivered to improve the health of communities in our region.

Members of MultiCare Connected Care Network have been recognized for the care they provide as well as their commitment to patients, investment in technology and involvement in the community. MultiCare Connected Care serves residents of Pierce, King, Thurston and Kitsap counties.
