Message from the President: Keeping the lines of communication open

Video still for MCC blog

As we‘ve engaged in the important work to create MultiCare Connected Care, grow our Clinically Integrated Network and transform the way we deliver care, one thing remains clear: Health care is growing ever more complex.

That is a trend that is likely to continue as we collectively move away from the traditional methods of health care delivery and learn how to adapt to a more consumer-focused environment and develop new care models that accelerate population health.

It‘s for this reason that I believe it so important that we reach out to our MultiCare Connected Care Network members through multiple venues for communication. It is only by being fully transparent – by opening up the curtain on this process, and our progress – that we can work together effectively in partnership and be successful in leading the way in shaping a healthier future.

We‘ll use this space to share thoughtful content that will help keep you informed about both MCC developments and relevant health care industry issues. Together, we can help each other navigate the sometimes-perplexing labyrinth of philosophies, terminology and processes that stem from health care reform, the growth of Accountable Care Organizations and our new approaches to care delivery. We‘ll highlight subject matter experts, MCCN members and other thought leaders who can provide you with much-needed clarity on the issues of today.

The primary theme for MCC in 2015 was achieving “lift off”: starting up the ACO and building the Clinically Integrated Network (CIN). In 2016, our themes will be mobilizing around data-driven insights to accelerate performance improvement and continuing to grow the number of lives covered under risk-bearing agreements.

I look forward to seeing what we will achieve together during this challenging, yet exciting, time in health care!
